It’s All Here
It’s All Here
It’s All Here
it’s all here,
this one instant…
the lilies’ innocence
and the seas of significance,
the betrayal of words
spoken through
the rain,
this laughter resonating in every heart
and listened through these veils of flesh,
stinging and biting
memories come and depart,
leave their presence
like stalwart soldiers
in unmarked graves,
tendered by the earth’s
forgiveness: the green grass
and noble sands
the ashes and the dust
of all homecomings
we are but beautiful and terrible shadows
of all these years,
lovers departing, lovers reuniting
in the song and in the dance:
the mystic mountain
and the winding river
of ourselves,
of youth that runs so far ahead
while we weep not far behind.
